MARLBOROUGH, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Police activity in the area of Mountain Drive intensified Friday morning, with officers going door to door asking residents to leave the neighborhood in response to an ongoing incident.

A Ryan Road resident said officers are requesting that people evacuate out of an abundance of caution. Those who are unable to leave are being advised to shelter in place, he said. Residents who do evacuate are being directed to the Frost Free Library, which will remain open until 1 p.m.

The Marlborough school will remain open for students in need, Marlborough Police said in an update on their Facebook page.

Multiple New Hampshire State Police cruisers were seen lining the roadway in the area, and Ryan Road has been closed at the Four Corners intersection.

Authorities have not released details about the nature of the incident. Police continue to urge the public to avoid the area as the situation remains active.

This is a developing story. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
