KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Keene’s ongoing Pavement Preservation Project will bring temporary closures to several city streets today as crews apply a protective fog seal to the roadway surface.
The work, scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., is weather-dependent and will be carried out in a mobile operation. The process involves spraying a thin asphalt sealer that must be left undisturbed until it sets. City officials warn that driving or walking on the surface before it’s reopened can damage the finish and spread the material to vehicles, shoes, or even pets.
Streets affected include Ellis Court; Moore Farm Road and No Name Road, along with nearby Concord Hill Drive; River Street; Sullivan Road; and Woodbury Street with its connecting roads — Fox Avenue, Fox Circle, and Foxwood Avenue.
Each section will be closed for up to two hours, blocking both traffic and driveway access from neighboring areas. Detours will be posted, and traffic control staff will be on site to help reroute vehicles.
The Public Works Department advises residents in the work zones to monitor the arrival of crews in their area and plan travel accordingly if they cannot remain home or leave for the day.
