KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Cheshire Medical Center is offering flu shot clinics for established patients.

Flu shots are recommended for those aged 6 months and older, and high-dose flu shots are recommended for those aged 65 and older. Both will be available at Cheshire Medical’s clinics throughout the month of October.

A drive-thru vaccine clinic will be held at the main hospital campus on Court Street in Keene on Saturday October 18 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Established patients can sign up on MyDH or by calling their providers office. The Court Street location can be reached at 603-354-6760, and the Maple Avenue location at 603-354-6900.

The Walpole flu clinic will be held on October 21st from 8 a.m. to noon, Patients can make appointments by calling 603-756-3960. The Winchester flu clinic is set for October 23rd from 8 a.m. to noon. Patients can call 603-239-6351 to make an appointment there.

“Although getting the flu may simply mean feeling sick or taking time off work for healthy adults, it can take the life of a senior or someone with a weakened immune system,” Cheshire Medical said on its website. “Like COVID-19, your flu shot may prevent someone else — such as an older or high-risk person — from being exposed and hospitalized with severe disease.”

The standard and high-dose shots are also available at Cheshire Medical’s retail pharmacy for patients aged 9 and older. Those are available on a walk-in basis Monday through, Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most other local pharmacies offer the shots as well. You can find more information on your pharmacy’s website.

Shots will also be offered in your primary care physician’s office at existing appointments, as well as in pediatric primary care. Parents can ask about the shot during an existing appointment or call 603-354-6666 to make an appointment.

Flu vaccination clinics are available at other Dartmouth Health locations as well. You can learn more at dartmouth-health.org/flu

Dartmouth Health clinics do not have COVID-19 vaccines yet but have provided information on the shots and who should get them on their website.
