(MyKeeneNow) As a major winter storm and extreme cold move into the Monadnock Region, organizations across Cheshire County are announcing closures and schedule changes for Monday, Jan. 26. Forecasts call for dangerous wind chills, heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions, prompting schools, nonprofits and community groups to adjust operations.

Confirmed Closings and Changes:

  • SAU 29: Keene School District
    (Chesterfield, Harrisville, Keene, Marlow, Nelson and Westmoreland)
    Closed Monday, Jan. 26.
  • Newport School District
    All Newport schools closed Monday, Jan. 26. All activities are canceled.
  • Rotary Club of Keene
    The Rotary Club of Keene will not hold its weekly noon meeting on Monday, Jan. 26, due to the impending storm and extreme cold.
  • Cheshire County Meals on Wheels / Friendly Meals
    Closed Monday, Jan. 26.
  • Making Community Connections Charter School (MC2), Keene
    Closed all day Monday, Jan. 26.
    • MC2 Board of Trustees meeting rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.
    • Academic Excellence Committee meeting rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m.
  • SAU 34: Hillsboro-Deering
    Closed Monday, Jan. 26.
  • SAU 60: Fall Mountain Regional School District
    Closed Monday, Jan. 26.
