CONCORD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A familiar name in the Monadnock Region’s business and media landscape is stepping into a prominent statewide role.

Lucy Lange, the former general manager of Monadnock Media Group in Keene, has been confirmed as the next commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs. The vote by the Governor and Executive Council clears the way for Lange to lead the state’s economic development strategy.

Lange previously oversaw operations at Monadnock Media Group, where she worked closely with local businesses, nonprofits and community organizations throughout the Keene area. In that role, she focused on marketing initiatives, audience engagement and building partnerships designed to strengthen the regional economy. She later went on to serve as president of Manchester Media Group.

Gov. Kelly Ayotte said Lange’s background in media, marketing and business development will help the state sharpen how it promotes itself to employers and entrepreneurs both inside and outside New England.

Following her confirmation, Lange said she is eager to begin working with the governor, Executive Council and BEA staff to expand economic opportunity across the state. She emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses while also attracting new companies and workers from neighboring states and international markets.

With two decades of experience in business development and communications, Lange now takes the helm of the agency responsible for economic growth, workforce initiatives and promoting New Hampshire as a destination for business investment.
