KEENE, NH – The City of Keene and the towns of Swanzey and Marlborough will hold public meetings this week to help inform residents of their upcoming Community Power Plans.
A Community Power Plan is when a city or town pools the electric use of residents, businesses, property owners, and non-profits to provide competitively priced electricity options.
Keene, Swanzey, Marlborough, and the town of Wilton issued a joint press release in March announcing their plans, set to launch in June.
Anyone who is currently enrolled in Eversource’s default rate will be automatically enrolled in the program. Residents should have received a postcard by now warning them of that, followed by a packet explaining how to opt out, or opt in if you weren’t automatically enrolled.
The City of Keene will host two informational meetings to further explain the program and answer any questions. The first is set for Tuesday April 25th at 6 pm at the Keene Public Library, the second is set for May 2nd at 6 pm in Council Chambers, that meeting will be in person and virtual on the Zoom platform, folks interested in participating via Zoom should register here.
The town of Marlborough will host their meeting on Tuesday April 25th at 7 pm at the Marlborough School, and the town of Swanzey’s is set for Wednesday April 26th at 6pm at Whitcomb Hall. The town of Wilton held their public meeting on Monday.
