KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – New Hampshire’s longest serving City Clerk has announced she’s retiring.
Keene City Clerk Patty Little has written a letter to Mayor Jay Kahn and the Keene City Council announcing her retirement, effective April 30th, 2025.
Little was appointed as City Clerk in 1981 and said it’s been an honor to serve the City Council and the residents of Keene for the last 43 years.
“Over these past 40-plus years, I’ve been fortunate to work with many talented staff and professional colleagues,” Little said in the letter. “I am especially grateful for my relationships with the City Manager and City Attorney and the valuable counsel and support they have provided me.”
She also thanked Mayor Kahn and the City Council, along with all other governing bodies that she has served under.
With nine months left of work, Little said she is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for the Keene City Council, and the continued success of the City Clerk’s office.
The council will take up the letter as part of their agenda Thursday night.
