MARLBOROUGH, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – A section of Route 12 near Webb Depot Road in Marlborough is shut down Friday morning due to a motor vehicle crash.
Officials with Southwestern Fire Mutual Aid confirmed that the accident involves a pickup truck and a school bus. All students on the bus were taken to Cheshire Medical Center and parents are being directed to pick them up there.
Authorities have confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck has died but their identity has not been released. None of the students on the bus were seriously injured.
In a statement on Facebook the Marlborough Police Department said the injuries sustained by students on board are believed to be minor and confirmed that the bus was enroute to Monadnock Regional Middle/High School.
“We are aware of the bus accident that occurred on Route 12 involving students from Monadnock Regional Middle-High School,” SAU 93 Superintendent Jeremy Rathbun said in an email to parents Friday morning. “While we do not have more details, we are able to share that our students are safe, and we will be reaching out to their parents directly.”
A mass casualty incident has been declared, and all available emergency personnel have been called to the scene.
