KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A plea and sentencing hearing has been scheduled Wednesday afternoon in Cheshire County Superior Court for a man charged in connection with the 2025 shooting death of 17-year-old Christian Walker in Keene.
According to a news release issued Wednesday by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, Thomas Pickford is expected to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. in the case of State of New Hampshire v. Thomas Pickford. The hearing will take place after acceptance of the matter by the Superior Court.
Pickford has been charged in connection with the murder of Walker, who was fatally shot during the early morning hours of June 25, 2025, in Keene.
Because the case remains pending before the court, state officials said they would not provide additional comment.
Walker, who was from Orange, Massachusetts, died after being shot in the parking lot of Riverside Plaza on Winchester Street. Keene police and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call and found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Cheshire Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy conducted later that day determined Walker died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death a homicide.
Investigators previously said all individuals involved in the incident had been identified and that there was no ongoing threat to the public. The shooting prompted a large police presence at Riverside Plaza, where a section of the parking lot was closed off as authorities processed the scene.
Additional details are expected to become available following today’s hearing.
