KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Time is running out for residents to nominate their favorite local businesses for the 2026 Keene’s Best Awards.

Nominations close Wednesday, July 1, at 5 p.m. Businesses receiving the most nominations in each category will advance to the final round of public voting, which begins July 8 at noon and continues through July 22 at 5 p.m. Winners and finalists will be recognized in a special print and online publication on Oct. 21.

Organized by Monadnock Media Group, the annual community awards recognize businesses and organizations across dozens of categories, including restaurants, retail stores, healthcare providers, contractors, professional services and nonprofits.

For local businesses, earning a spot as a finalist or winner can provide more than just bragging rights.

Consumer research from BrightLocal has found that most people read online reviews before choosing a local business, and nearly 90 percent say those reviews influence where they spend their money. Community-voted awards offer another form of trust by highlighting businesses that have earned the support of their customers.

Research from Podium also indicates consumers are more likely to choose businesses that have received awards, certifications or other recognition, making community honors an important way for businesses to stand out in a competitive marketplace.

In addition to the recognition itself, winners and finalists receive exposure through print and online coverage, helping introduce them to new customers throughout the Monadnock Region.

The annual competition has generated nearly 50,000 votes in recent years, reflecting broad community participation and giving residents an opportunity to highlight the local businesses they trust and support.

Residents have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to submit nominations at www.keenesbest.com.
