KEENE, NH – Police say a 12-year-old girl led officers on a chase through Winchester and other towns Tuesday.

Police allege the girl had taken her fathers pick up truck and eluded officers for 30 minutes through Winchester, Hinsdale, and towards Swanzey.

A police cruiser was up ahead of the chase to clear traffic as it progressed.

Police deployed a spike strip near Hinsdale Road and Main Street in Winchester and popped the trucks tires, disabling it. The girl reportedly took off on foot into the nearby woods, but she was quickly taken into custody and released to her parents.

Few details are likely to be released in the incident due to the fact that the girl is a minor.
