KEENE, NH – Area police departments are investigating a pair of armed robberies within the last week.
Keene Police responded to the Irving Gas Station and Circle K convenience store at 410 West Street around 4:00 the morning of July 25th. According to a news release issued this Tuesday morning, the suspect entered the store an pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He was last seen running into the front portion of the parking lot of the Savings Bank of Walpole next door.
Meanwhile, police in Chesterfield, along with the Brattleboro VT and Hinsdale Police Departments and New Hampshire State Police responded to another reported armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station at 97 Route 9 in West Chesterfield at 10:30 Monday night.
According to a store employee, the male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money. Moments later, the suspect was behind the counter stealing money and merchandise, before he fled on foot towards Vermont. The NHSP K-9 Unit was able to track the suspect to the Vermont state line.
No one was injured in either incident and both suspects remain at large. It’s unclear at this point if the two are connected or not. Police have released surveillance footage of the suspects, seen above.
