(MyKeeneNow) – Jean E. Ferguson, 78, of Keene, passed away on July 31 at Concord Hospital surrounded by her dear friends and caregivers.
Jean was born in Boston on Nov. 29, 1945. At the age of two months, Doris A. (Whiton) and Winston C. Ferguson Sr. adopted her.
Jean grew up in Swanzey and was a graduate of Monadnock Regional High School and later attended Wright State University, Ohio State University and Franklin Pierce University in Rindge.
She enjoyed her work at New Hope New Horizons, helping the clients with cooking, communications, life skills and doing things for themselves. Jean also enjoyed days at Camp Holiday, swimming and doing crafts. She was a member of the Monadnock Covenant Church in Keene.
Jean was feisty, she was funny, she was loyal and she was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved shopping, reading and the wrestler John Cena. Jean will always be remembered as an advocate for herself and those around her.
Jean leaves behind her caregivers from CHESCO whom she considered as family; a brother, Winston C. Ferguson Jr.; and her dear friend, Abigail Toegel.
