KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – The Keene School District has unveiled key changes to its administrative team for the upcoming school year, with three new leaders stepping into pivotal roles aimed at enhancing student services, curriculum development, and community education.

Kate Adams has been appointed as the Director of Student Services for SAU 29, following her tenure as Interim Director since August 2023. With a master’s degree in special education from Keene State College, Adams brings extensive

experience within the district, having first joined in 2008 as a paraprofessional. Over the years, she has served in various capacities, including special education teacher, behavior interventionist, and principal/instructional coach at Harrisville-Wells Memorial School. In her new role, Adams will oversee special education across the seven independent school districts within SAU 29, leading a team dedicated to ensuring accessible and inclusive education for all students.

Abigail Blais has been named the new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Keene High School, effective July 1, 2024. Blais, who holds an advanced graduate certificate in Educational Leadership & Curriculum Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, previously taught middle school science in Henniker and Hudson, New Hampshire. At Keene High School, Blais will lead professional development initiatives, oversee the Science Department, and guide the Instructional Leadership Team. She steps into the role previously held by Michael Smith, who became the principal of Keene Middle School last year.

Heather Jasmin takes the helm as the new Director of Keene Community Education, starting August 14, 2024. With a Master’s in Business Administration from Plymouth State College, Jasmin has a background in program coordination, having worked with Keene State College’s Extended Education department since 2005. She succeeds Victoria Farrington, who led the program from 2021 to 2024. In her new role, Jasmin will manage a variety of educational programs, including Adult Education, the Alternative Diploma Program, and Apprenticeship and Enrichment programs.
