KEENE, NH – Keene police are investigating an early morning stabbing over the weekend.

According to a news release from the Keene Police Department Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to a residence on Church Street around 4:00 Sunday morning for a report of a burglary where one person had been stabbed.

Once on scene police identified all participants involved and discovered that two people had knife wounds.

Both of the people injured received initial treatment on scene then were transported to Cheshire Medical Center for further treatment.

Police say that evidence gathered at the scene indicates that the incident was not a burglary as originally reported, and that the involved parties knew each other.
