(MyKeeneNow) – Donna (Holt) Cunningham, 78, a former resident of Swanzey and Keene, passed away peacefully on Aug. 22, 2024, in Katy, Texas surrounded by family.

She was born on March 6, 1946, daughter of Priscilla (Rodgers) Holt and Grant Holt,.

Donna was a cherished and vibrant member of her community. Known for her infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy, Donna touched countless lives. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, serving as the beloved matriarch of her family. Her nurturing spirit fostered deep connections across generations.

Her career in social services began at Southwestern Community Services in 1979. She flourished in her roles, retiring after 24 years as the program director of the weatherization assistance program. Donna’s unique gift for listening and problem solving made a lasting impact on her community.

For 60 years, Donna was happily married to the love of her life, Joseph Cunningham Jr. Their enduring love inspired all who knew them, and now they are joyfully reunited.

She is survived by her children, Christina Miller (spouse Chip), Joseph Cunningham III (spouse Cara), and Ryan Cunningham (spouse Tracy); grandchildren, Matthew Miller (spouse Jen), Brianna Lawrence (spouse Tyler), Kayla Gilbert (spouse Cam), and Kyle Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Mason Miller, Lucas Miller, Brody Miller, Gavin Gilbert, and Trace Lawrence; siblings, Diane Moran (spouse Edward), Jerry Holt (spouse Sharon), Roland Holt, and Julianne Wilkinson (spouse Barry); and numerous extended family members.

Donna’s light will continue to shine through the lives she touched. Her love for nature was evident throughout her life. She found great joy in hosting family and friends at her cottage on Granite Lake. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and zest for life will be carried forward by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. All are welcome.
