KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Keene High School will host a community conversation about bullying this Wednesday, Sept. 25, and the resources available to support affected students, including mental health services.
Centered on the theme, “Building a Safety Net for Our Youth,” the event will feature a panel of experts from various community partner organizations. These panelists will share their insights on how to improve the local approach to bullying and how to better safeguard the well-being of young people.
The event was relocated from Keene Middle School to Keene High School in order to make room for a larger audience.
The gathering was arranged by school administrators in response to the recent death of a local middle school student. The student’s mother stated that her daughter had been subjected to persistent bullying.
The evening will include a structured agenda beginning with an overview of objectives, introduction of panelists, and ground rules. Panelists will then discuss key topics such as bullying policies, preventive measures, support systems, and available resources for students’ mental health.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can submit their questions via index cards for panelists and school administrators to address.
Organizers hope that the event will not only raise awareness about the importance of bullying prevention but also foster a community-wide effort to build stronger support networks for local youth. Closing remarks will focus on outlining next steps for the community to take in continuing to strengthen these efforts.
Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.
