KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene has declared a winter weather parking ban, effective from 1 to 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan, 20. During this time, all on-street parking is prohibited to facilitate snow plowing and other road maintenance operations.

Drivers seeking alternative parking are advised to use public parking spaces in the Gilbo East parking lot, which will be available overnight.

According to the Department of Public Works, the City will provide at least six hours’ notice before any future bans are implemented. Notifications will be issued via text, email, social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and the City’s website at KeeneNH.gov/snow. Residents who sign up for text alerts must confirm their enrollment by replying “YES” to an initial confirmation message.

The City’s parking policy has recently changed. While overnight on-street parking was once banned from Nov, 1 to April 30, it is now allowed year-round unless a specific Winter Weather Parking Ban is in effect.

For questions or more information, residents can visit the City’s parking maps online or contact Public Works at 352-6550.
