SWANZEY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) At the Monadnock Humane Society, this week’s featured pet is Muenster, a lovable 5-year-old male Pitbull Terrier mix who has been waiting 97 days for his forever home.
Muenster is the shelter’s longest resident, and while he’s well cared for, he dreams of a home and family to call his own. This big, strong boy has an equally big heart—he’s sweet, smart, and incredibly food-motivated (he’ll do just about anything for a treat)! He walks well on a harness and would love an active person or family who enjoys outdoor adventures as much as he does.
Because Muenster can get a little jumpy and mouthy when excited, he’d do best in a home with older kids. He has lived with another dog before and may enjoy a canine sibling, but he isn’t suited for a home with cats—his urge to chase is just too strong! Muenster also experiences some separation anxiety and takes medication to help him feel calmer at the shelter. He would thrive in a home where his person is around often, providing him with a steady routine, a cozy crate, and plenty of snuggles (his favorite!).
Muenster is mostly house-trained and eager to learn with consistency. After a fun-filled day of playing, he’s happiest when he can curl up next to his person for belly rubs and relaxation. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend, Muenster is ready to be your devoted companion!
To meet Muenster, visit the Monadnock Humane Society during open hours on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call Adoption & Foster Care Coordinator Nicole Benn at (603)-354-4004 to schedule an appointment. Immediate assistance is available by calling the adoption desk at (603)-352-9011.
