KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The remaining dates in the series of ward listening sessions, during which residents of Keene will have the chance to voice their concerns and ideas directly to city staff, are coming up this month.
Hosted by the Community Development Department, these informal gatherings aim to foster open discussions about key local issues, including housing standards, land use regulations, and ongoing city initiatives.
The next sessions are scheduled as follows:
-
Ward 3 – March 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Brian A. Mattson Recreation Center (312 Washington St.).
-
Ward 4 – April 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Heberton Hall (Keene Public Library annex, 60 Winter St.).
-
Ward 5 – Date and location to be announced.
Unlike traditional meetings, these sessions will not include formal presentations. Instead, residents can drop in at any time during the event to engage in one-on-one conversations with city staff. Attendees can learn about ongoing projects such as the Master Plan update, the Keene Community Power Program, and building code updates, while also sharing their own perspectives on the city’s development and policies.
The department plays a key role in shaping Keene’s future by supporting economic growth, neighborhood development, and environmental sustainability. These listening sessions are part of an ongoing effort to engage residents and ensure that city planning reflects the needs of the community.
For those unable to attend, the Community Development Department welcomes input via phone at 352-5440 or by email to communitydevelopment@keenenh.gov
