Faith, redemption, and a 10-foot cross: Meet Charlie Mead

Charlie Mead is a familiar face to many in Keene, standing by his towering 10-foot cross at the busy intersection of Route 12 and Routes 9, 10, and 101. Though neuropathy sometimes forces him to rest in his truck, Mead remains steadfast in his mission to share a message that saved his life. A former construction business owner, Mead once battled severe addiction, using drugs and alcohol to numb emotional pain from childhood abuse. At his lowest, he nearly lost his life several times, but everything changed 18 years ago when a divine encounter led him to find faith in Jesus Christ. Now, Mead dedicates his life to spreading a message of hope and redemption to anyone willing to listen, standing by the roadside with his cross, ready to share his story of transformation.
