KEENE, N.H. – Councilors couldn’t come to an agreement Thursday night on who would fill the vacant Ward 1 seat on the Keene City Council.
The seat became vacant after Raleigh Ormerod resigned last month.
Four candidates filed and were given the opportunity to address the council. Former mayoral candidate Bradford Hutchinson did not show up to the meeting, leaving candidates Jacob Favolise, Janis Manwaring, and Valerie Bradley Walsh.
The council found themselves deadlocked at seven votes a piece for Manwaring and Bradley-Walsh.
Another filing period will open on May 10 and run through May 24. Favolise, Manwaring, and Bradley-Walsh are invited to file again along with anyone else who would like to.
The council will attempt another election at their June 6 meeting.
