KEENE, NH – Eversource is predicting that all customers still without power should have their lights back on tonight.
In an update this afternoon, spokesman William Hinkle said that since the storm began Sunday evening, more than 1,000 crews had restored power to more than 232,000 customers statewide.
As of 1:00 this afternoon, roughly 3,000 customers were still without power. Hinkle said everyone should have their power restored tonight, and those outages would be prioritized over any potential additional outages prompted by the winter weather system forecasted to move over the region this afternoon and overnight.
As of 3:45 Wednesday afternoon, about 1,330 customers were still without power.
In previous updates, Hinkle said that crews from Canada and surrounding states had come in to assist in the response. Those crews were scheduled to stay to respond to any outages from the snow tonight.
Some streets in the City of Keene are still at least partially closed to vehicular traffic, drivers should use caution and follow posted detours where applicable. The Keene Public Works Department was able to reopen Maple Avenue earlier today.
The Department is still struggling to clear city sidewalks. As of noon today, about 75% of sidewalks in the city were cleared, with a focus on main roads and school areas. Crews are continuing to work to open the rest of the sidewalks this afternoon and will again Thursday morning, then as necessary following any snow that accumulates after that.
