KEENE, NH – It may not have felt like it lately, but it is still Winter in the Monadnock Region, and a batch of winter weather is on its way to remind us of that.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that goes into effect at 7:00 Wednesday night and expires at 7:00 Thursday night. Mixed precipitation is expected across the state. The NWS says to expect slippery road conditions and to avoid travel if possible. The snow is expected to change over to a period of sleet and visibility will improve, but road conditions will remain slick.
WKBK Staff Meteorologist Pat Pagano is predicting 4-8 inches of snow locally.
Eversource spokesman William Hinkle says the power company has been monitoring the forecast closely and making preparations as necessary to respond to any potential outages and have secured additional contract crews to assist in their response.
“With a mix of winter precipitation in the forecast across the state, we’re particularly focused on the potential for significant amounts of heavy wet, snow, isolated icing, and gusty conditions – prepositioning crews and resources at our area work centers across the state based on the forecast.”
