KEENE, NH – New Hampshire is on tap to receive over $10 million for money spent on COVID personal protective equipment (PPE).
According to a news release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services will receive $10,143,621 in FEMA Public Assistance grants. The money is meant to reimburse NH DHHS for purchasing and distributing PPE to healthcare workers and first responders across the state between June 2020 and June 2021.
Among PPE items purchased were N95 masks, respirators, surgical masks, gloves, protective eyewear, face shields, and gowns.
“FEMA is pleased to be able to assist the State of New Hampshire with these costs,” said FEMA Region 1 Regional Administrator Lori Ehrlich. “Providing resources for our partners on the front lines of the pandemic fight is critical to their success, and our success as a nation.”
Since the start of the pandemic, FEMA has provided more than $230 million in Public Assistance grants to New Hampshire to reimburse the state for pandemic-related expenses.
