KEENE, NH – No charges will be filed against a Keene man who shot and killed another man outside his home last May.
According to a report from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office, Shane Frazier, 35, shot and killed Kristopher Chagnon, 27, on Green Street on May 13, 2022.
Frazier fired one shot from a rifle, fatally wounding Chagnon shortly after Frazier and his 1-year-old returned home from McDonald’s with Happy Meals and retrieved his seven-year-old from outside his next-door neighbor’s residence.
Witness accounts differ on the actions of Frazier, Chagnon, and the rest of a group of people at the Green Street residence. Frazier claimed Chagnon ran up the stairs, pushed open the door and got in his face, and that he warned Chagnon before he fired the weapon.
Attorney General John Formella determined prosecutors would be unable to meet their burden of disproving Frazier’s claim of self-defense at trial.
