KEENE, NH – One person has died after the airplane they were a passenger on, that took off from the Keene Dillant-Hopkins Airport, experienced turbulence.

The National Transportation safety board says the plane, a Bombardier Challenger 300, took off in Keene and was headed for Leesburg Executive Airport in Virginia, but it was diverted to Bradley International Airport in Connecticut around 4 pm Saturday after experiencing “severe” turbulence.

Five people were on board the plane at the time, including three passengers and two crew members. One passenger died in the incident, they have yet to be identified.

Investigators with the NTSB removed the plane’s cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder, and were working to gather information from the others on the plane.

The NTSB expects to release a preliminary report in 2-3 weeks.
