KEENE, NH – Police say one person suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Route 9 in Keene near Washington Street Wednesday evening.

First responders were called to the scene at 6:50 Wednesday night and discovered a serious collision. Preliminary investigations indicate that Edward Jacod, 81, of Sullivan was westbound in a 2001 Chevrolet 2500 truck when he failed to yield to another vehicle while turning onto Washington Street, and collided with a 2007 GMC 1500 truck driven by Jace Joslyn, 18, of Swanzey.

Jacod’s passenger, who was not identified in a news release from the Keene Police Department, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center by medical helicopter. Police did not provide an update on their condition Thursday afternoon.

In an initial press release Wednesday evening Keene police said Jacod was transported for medical care as well, while the occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Lieutenant Chidester or Detective Lippincott of the Keene Police Department at (603) 357-9813.
