KEENE, NH – Thousands of Granite Staters were without power throughout the day Thursday as snow and sleet blankets the state in a late season snowstorm.
As of 11:45 Thursday morning Eversource was reporting about 110,000 current outages. Spokesman William Hinkle said the power company was prepared for the storm, having brought in hundreds of additional crews to help with restoration.
Locally, outages have been reported all over the Monadnock Region, mostly due to trees and wires coming down. The town of Marlborough was hit particularly hard with several road closures reported due to accidents and trees blocking the roadway.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8:00 Thursday night. Some roads are still snow covered and slick so drivers should use caution, and per state law, be sure to clear all ice and snow off of your vehicle before you hit the road. If you come across any downed power lines do not go near them and report them to local police.
