KEENE, NH – A crash in Rindge Tuesday morning has prompted police to remind residents of a town ordinance that protects work crews and motorists.
The crash on Forristall Road was reported around 9:45 Tuesday morning where police say a motorist crashed into a Spectrum van at an unprotected work scene that partially blocked the roadway. Very few details on the crash have been released but one person was reportedly airlifted to a nearby hospital.
The Police Detail Town Ordinance is meant to establish guidelines for when a police detail is required at public meetings or functions, and when road projects impede the flow of traffic.
The Rindge Police Department says they keep a list of required roads for police details or flaggers to avoid incidents such as the crash Tuesday morning. Motorists who see an unprotected work crew are asked to contact the department so officers can assess the scene and respond accordingly.
