KEENE, NH – One woman sustained serious injuries in a crash in Westmoreland on Saturday that police say was part of a road rage incident.

According to a news release from New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded to the crash on Route 12 near Aldrich Road in Westmoreland for a reported two-car motor vehicle crash with injury.

Following a preliminary investigation, police say a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Katey Young, 34, of Walpole, was traveling northbound behind a red 2004 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck driven by Marshall Carrier, 17, of Claremont. Young reportedly attempted to pass Carrier and their vehicles collided. Young lost control of her vehicle and struck and embankment, and rolled over onto the roof, while Carrier also lost control of his truck and it sustained disabling damage from the collision.

The crash remains under investigation, but according to the release police are treating it as a road rage incident.

Young was taken to Cheshire Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and Carrier was uninjured.
