KEENE, NH – Cheshire County is under a Winter Storm Warning through the evening on Thursday.
The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snow and sleet, with total snow accumulations from 6-15 inches in some areas, and winds gusting up to 55 miles per hour.
Locally, WKBK Staff Meteorologist Pat Pagano is calling for four inches or more in Keene. The NWS is expecting this to be a long-duration storm with precipitation beginning Wednesday afternoon. The Winter Storm Warning is currently set to expire at 8 pm on Thursday.
Driving could become hazardous, so drivers are urged to use caution. Eversource is prepared for potential power outages as well, having secured hundreds of additional crews to support restoration. If you lose power be sure to report it, and if you come across any downed power lines do not go near them and report them to police.
