KEENE, NH – A Vermont man plead guilty in federal court in Concord, New Hampshire for selling drugs in and around Keene.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Jane Young, Lamar Carter, 32, led a drug distribution organization that obtained powder cocaine from New Jersey, “cooked” it to manufacture, and several employees who worked for him conducted hand-to-hand drug transactions in the Keene area.
Carter plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a maximum fine of $1,000,000. He was indicted on the charges in August of 2022, and will be sentenced in March 2024.
364 grams of cocaine base and two handguns were seized during the investigation, led by Homeland Security with assistance from the Keene Police Department.
