MARLBOROUGH, NH. (MyKeeneNow) Authorities have released new details about Friday morning’s police response on Mountain Drive, confirming a Londonderry man was arrested after barricading himself inside a home during a domestic-related incident involving a handgun.

According to a news release from the New Hampshire State Police, troopers were called to assist the Marlborough Police Department at just after 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, after reports of a man armed with a handgun inside a residence.

Officers from Marlborough, along with police from Jaffrey and Keene, initially responded and attempted to make contact with the man, identified as James Salisbury, 31, of Londonderry. When Salisbury did not respond and remained barricaded inside, Marlborough officers requested additional assistance.

State police assumed command of the scene, with support from departments in Peterborough and Dublin, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, Cheshire County EMS, Marlborough Fire and New Hampshire Fish and Game.

After several hours, just after 11:30 a.m., Salisbury surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Salisbury is charged with felony criminal threatening (domestic violence), criminal trespass and breach of bail. Authorities also determined he had two active warrants. He is being held pending his arraignment Monday, Feb. 23, in Keene District Court.

The incident prompted officers to go door to door earlier in the day asking nearby residents to evacuate or shelter in place, and Ryan Road was closed at the Four Corners intersection while multiple state police cruisers lined the area.
