KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – One person has been arrested in the case of a child who died in January of 2024 in Keene.
According to a news release Tuesday from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, police and emergency medical personnel responded to an apartment in Keene the morning of January 14, 2024, following a 911 call reporting that an infant was experiencing medical distress.
First responders arrived on scene and found Luca Hudson, who was 23 months old at the time, unconscious and not breathing.
Hudson was taken to the hospital and died three days later on January 17, 2024. An autopsy determined his cause of death was homicide, resulting from blunt head trauma.
An investigation ensued and police obtained an arrest warrant for Annthoni Bliss, 22, charging him with one count of second-degree murder.
Police believe Bliss caused Hudson’s death recklessly under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by subjecting Hudon to abusive violence and not obtaining timely medical assistance for his injuries, the release says.
Bliss was taken into custody Tuesday evening and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the Eighth Circuit Court, Keene District Division.
Bliss’ relationship to the child is unclear.
