BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) A local man is in custody after police thwarted a potential school shooting threat made on social media earlier this week.

On the morning of January 24, 2025, Brattleboro Police received reports of alarming online posts suggesting a school shooting was imminent, according to a news release.

Investigators quickly identified the individual behind the threats as 39-year-old Kashka Lundy of Brattleboro. Authorities acted swiftly, arresting Lundy before the school day began, ensuring the safety of students and staff.

As part of the investigation, police executed search warrants at a residence on Valgar Street and a vehicle linked to Lundy, the release said. He was subsequently charged with domestic terrorism and criminal threatening.

Lundy is currently being held on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 27.

Police credited the quick response to vigilant community members who reported the threats promptly.
