BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) Two Brattleboro residents are facing multiple felony charges after police say a raid on a Harris Place home turned up large quantities of fentanyl, crack cocaine, firearms, and cash.

Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, Brattleboro Police, assisted by Vermont State Police, executed a search warrant at the residence. Investigators reported finding what they described as a “felony amount” of fentanyl and cocaine, along with numerous guns and a significant amount of money.

Police arrested Ella Thorne-Thomsen, 37, and Scott Kielbasa, 41, both of Brattleboro. They were charged with fentanyl trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and cruelty to a child.

According to police, the child cruelty charge was filed after officers discovered a seven-year-old in the home who had access to unsecured firearms and narcotics visible on household surfaces.

Both Thorne-Thomsen and Kielbasa were held on $5,000 bail and lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department before their arraignment in Windham County Superior Court on Oct. 29.

Authorities said the investigation remains active and that additional charges may follow.

The Brattleboro Police Department thanked the Vermont State Police for assisting with the operation.

Police emphasized that all individuals arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
