Cleotis “Cleo” Lee Miller, 85, a resident of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully and quietly on Saturday, May 11, 2024, while at the Jack Byrnes Center in Lebanon.

He was born to the late Florence (Weldy) and John J. Miller on September 11,1938, in St. Joseph County, Indiana.

On June 10, 1961, Cleotis exchanged vows with the love of his life, Sally A. (Senecal) Miller. They had a simple service at the Brattleboro Church of Christ with family and friends celebrating them.

As a carpenter and craftsman, Cleo worked in construction both as a builder and as a superintendent of projects. Once retired Cleo established Hilltop Carpentry & Woodworking and spent his time doing small jobs until 2020. Cleo loved working in his shop making things including furniture for his grandchildren.

Cleo was a private pilot and loved to fly. He enjoyed building model planes and ultralights, as well as restoring antique planes. He was a longtime member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), Cleo also enjoyed reading and serving as an elder and song leader for the Church of Christ in Keene where he was a member. His laugh was infectious and was often heard during the family gatherings that meant so much to him.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Sally A. Miller of Westmoreland, his daughter, Jodi L. Scanlan and her husband, Kevin of Westmoreland, and his sister Phyllis Mast and her husband, Vernon of Amelia, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Leigh Cogan and her husband, Michael of Fayetteville, AR., Ethan Scanlan of Billerica, MA., Lauren Bisson and husband, John of Bellows Falls, VT., Erin Scanlan of Westmoreland, and Laina Scanlan of Westmoreland, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his three siblings, Miriam Good, Leora Zimmerman, and Larry Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431., with a gathering after. A burial will be held at 2:00 pm in the family lot at South Village Cemetery, Glebe Road, Westmoreland, NH. 03467. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Keene Church of Christ or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
