(MyKeeneNow) – Dale (Hillenbrand) Allis, 73, of Conway, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

She was in Holyoke, MA to Marie (Fagnant) and Carl Hillenbrand on Nov. 19, 1950. She attended Frontier Regional High School in South Deerfield, MA, graduating in 1968.

On October 10, 1970, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” H. Allis Jr. They were married in the Protestant Church in Whately, MA surrounded by the love of their family and friends. Dale and Charlie were married for 53 years.
She had worked at Sugarloaf Dental in South Deerfield, MA as a dental assistant for 29 years, retiring in 2015. Prior she had worked at the Girls Club in Greenfield, MA for three years.

Dale enjoyed horseback riding, played the guitar, fiddle, golfing, photography, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and so much more. She also took part in competitive motorcycle riding through trails all over New England. She placed first for two years when belonging to the New England Trail Rider Association. She taught country line dancing and the group became close friends calling themselves the Country Kickers. They performed at parades, country fairs, the Boston Performing Arts Center, Nashville Tennessee on Club dance and they also enjoyed performing at nursing homes around Christmas to brighten the days for the residents. When her husband took up archery she decided to join him. At one of the competitions, she shot a perfect score that consisted of 25 arrows shot into a three-inch circle at twenty yards. When Charlie started bow hunting, Dale told him she wanted to walk a mile in his shoes and in her short involvement with bow hunting she shot a total of two arrows and came home with two deer. After that she told Charlie “I’ve walked in your shoes and choose not to kill deer anymore.” Dale and her husband enjoyed swing dancing and after going to a fifties themed event they won the grand prize which was an all expenses paid vacation on Grand Bahama Island. Dale enjoyed life and excelled at everything she did.

Dale leaves behind her loving husband and best friend, Charlie Allis.  They were blessed with almost 54 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two sons, Chaz Allis and his wife Erin of Marlborough, CT and Justin Allis of Conway; seven grandchildren, Hunter, Weston, and Gabrien Allis of Marlborough, CT and Grettle, Lincoln, Dyna, and Briar Allis of Conway, MA; her siblings, Karen Wagner and her husband, Bob, of Wells, ME, Dawn Seidell and her husband, Jim, of West Hampton, N.H. , Holly LaClaire of Greenfield, MA, Jill Hillenbrand and her partner, Phil Labbee, of Chesterfield, and her brother, Carl Hillenbrand of North Carolina. She is also survived by her aunt Nancy (Hillenbrand) Kosier and her husband, Frank, of Goshen; two uncles, Phil Fagnant of Rutland, VT, and Edward Fagnant of Holyoke along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at Howland Cemetery, Shelburne Falls Road, Conway, MA. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her amazing life at the Blue Bonnet Diner, 324 King St., Northampton, MA. following the graveside service.
