(MyKeeneN0w) – David William Spiess, 71, of Keene, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.
He was born in Keene, March 7, 1953, son of Barbara (Brayman) Spiess and Donald Secord. At the age of two, he was adopted by his late stepfather Emile Spiess and took his last name. He was educated locally at Keene High School, class of 1971.
David was a hard worker and had a career as a courier and delivery driver for several companies.

David was described as a loner and tended to keep to himself. He did, however, have a tendency to chat with every stranger that walked by him. He was also the Mr. Wilson to his nephew Carter’s Denis the Menace. David also loved to drive, he drove all over ME, NH and VT and knew every road that there was! He loved auto racing, cars and trucks, and was a pit crew member for auto races.
Mr. Spiess is survived by his mother, Barbara Spiess of Winchester; his sisters, Diane Duhaime of Jacksonville, Fla., Cheryl and John Britton of Winchester, Donna and Thomas Scadova of Litchfield, and Janice and Larry Muchmore of Westmoreland; his brothers, Phillip and Becky Spiess of Swanzey, Michael and Gail Helblom of Swanzey, Anthony and Sheila Secord of Keene, and Walter and Glenda Secord of Keene, as well as his ex-wife, Carol Buffum. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. David is predeceased by his father Donald Secord, Stepmother Ellie Secord, father Emile Spiess, niece Melissa Duhaime and nephew Anthony Secord.
