RINDGE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow)— A driver and a young child were injured Friday afternoon after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 202 in Rindge.

According to the Rindge Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to the area near County Road at approximately 3:38 p.m. on March 13 for a report of a rollover crash.

Initial reports indicate a 1989 Chevy Blazer was traveling northbound on Route 202 when another vehicle passed and cut in front of it. Police say the driver of the Blazer braked to avoid the vehicle, lost control, and the SUV rolled over before coming to rest on the opposite side of the road, partially submerged in water.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Jaffrey, and a 5-year-old passenger both suffered minor to moderate injuries. As a precaution, the child was flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The driver was transported to the same hospital by Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance.

Crews from the Rindge Fire Department, Jaffrey Fire Department, and Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance assisted at the scene, including establishing a landing zone for the medical helicopter. Gauthier Auto Service of Jaffrey assisted with removing the vehicle.

Authorities say the identities of those involved are being withheld to protect the juvenile.
