RICHMOND, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A section of Route 119 in Richmond is closed this week as state crews carry out emergency repairs on a failed culvert.

The closure, which began Monday afternoon near 430 Fitzwilliam Road, affects the stretch between Monument Road and Tully Brook Road. Drivers traveling through the area will need to take alternate routes until at least Thursday, June 12, according to the N.H. Department of Transportation.

Westbound traffic is being detoured via Route 12 to Flat Roof Mill Road in Swanzey, then South Road to Route 32 south, before reconnecting with Route 119. The eastbound detour reverses that path: Route 32 north to South Road, then Flat Roof Mill Road to Route 12 south.

Officials are asking motorists to follow posted signs and use caution in the area, which remains an active work zone.
