KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Keene city officials are set to unveil the final design for the Downtown Infrastructure Replacement and Reconstruction Project at a special meeting this Wednesday. The Municipal Services, Facilities, and Infrastructure Committee will review the proposal, which has been shaped by months of technical analysis and public input, beginning at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
The design includes key decisions on sidewalk materials, bike lane layouts, crosswalk styles, planting beds, and street lighting. Traffic management strategies to minimize disruption for residents and businesses during construction will also be discussed.
Phase one of the project, focused on Central Square, is slated to begin in May, though a request by City Councilor Randy Filiault to delay construction by a year is still under consideration.
The Downtown Revitalization Project aims to modernize aging infrastructure while enhancing the area’s accessibility and aesthetic appeal. Residents can explore further details at KeeneNH.gov/Downtown.
