PROVIDENCE, R.I. (MyKeeneNow) Four members of the Keene State College field hockey team were named to All-LEC team, as Grace Bazin was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Year, as she joined Irini Stefanakos as a First Team All-LEC selection, while Hannah Wood and Meghan Daileanes were named to the Second Team All-LEC and Elyse Picard was named the Owls’ 12 Player Award Winner.
Bazin, a junior forward from Westminster, Vermont, earned an All-LEC First Team selection for the 2024 season after being named to the Second Team All-LEC in 2023 for the Owls. Bazin also became the first Owl to be named the LEC Offensive Player of the Year in field hockey since Nina Bruno won the award in 2018. In playing and starting in all 22 games on the season for the Owls, Bazin recorded LEC-highs in goals (26), goals per game (1.182), points (59), and points per game (2.68). Her 26 goals across the season are the fifth most in a season in KSC program history, while her 59 points are the fourth most in a single season for the Owls. Across the season, Bazin scored five game-winning goals (tied for the most in the LEC), including one in each of the Owls’ two playoff games, along with scoring a hat trick in four different games for KSC. Bazin was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 9, Sept. 30 and Oct. 7) over the year. Bazin currently sits at 104 career points for the Owls (12th in program history), as she became the 13th member of the 100 point club in the Owls’ game at Vermont State Castleton (10/22/24).

Stefanakos, a senior forward and team captain, from Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was named to the All-LEC First Team for the 2024 season, completing the sweep of being named to the First Team all four years as an Owl. Stefanakos has recorded 40 points over her senior season, the second-most in the conference, only behind Bazin. She tallied 11 goals (tied for the eighth most in the LEC), and an LEC-high 18 assists, which is tied for the second most assists in a single season in program history for KSC. She was only one of four athletes of the LEC to record three assists in a game on the season, and she is the only one to achieve the feat in two games (Sept. 25 against Smith College, and Oct. 19 against Western Connecticut State University). Stefanakos climbed up the career record books over the season, as she became the program’s leader in career assists, as she currently has 50. She also moved into third place for career points, with 176 currently, and her 63 goals puts her in fifth place for career goals. Stefanakos was also named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 21) earlier in the season.

Wood, a senior defender from Brownsville, Vt., was named to the Second Team All-LEC for her senior season for the Owls. Wood played and started in all 22 games on the season for the Owls, in which she has recorded three goals and an assist on the attack, while being a crucial part of the Owls defense that only allowed 2.09 goals per game and posted five shutouts.

Daileanes, a sophomore forward from Londonderry, New Hampshire, earned a Second Team All-LEC selection over the season for the Owls after a great second season with KSC. Daileanes played and started in all 22 of the Owls’ games over the 2024 season, and tallied 35 points, the fifth most in the conference over the season. Her seven assists and 14 goals were both tied for the fourth most in the LEC, with five of the goals being game winners (tied for the most in the conference).

Elyse Picard, a sophomore midfielder from Southington, Connecticut, was named the Owls’ 12th Player Award for the 2024 season. While playing both sides of the field, Picard picked a great time to record her first assist of the season, as it came on the Owls’ second goal of the LEC Championship game at Vermont State Castleton. The 12th Player Award “is presented to a student-athlete in recognition of their positive contributions to the team both on and off the field, who brings forth their best effort in competition, practice and other team activities that positively contribute to the success of the program.”
