Field Hockey
Sophomore forward Grace Seabury (Wakefield, Mass.) was named the LEC Co-Offensive Player of the week, for the second time this season, from her performance in the Owls’ two games over the week. In the first game of the week, at Rivier University, Seabury tallied two goals in the third quarter, which resulted in the Owls’ 4-2 win on the day. In the second game of the week, she picked up an assist in the Owls’ crucial 3-2 comeback win over Plymouth State University.
Freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Nicotera (Medford, Mass.) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week, for the second consecutive week, and the LEC goalkeeper of the week, for the first time this season, from her performance over the two games from KSC over the week. Against Rivier, Nicotera recorded a pair of saves, while allowing just one goal over the 30 minutes that she was in net. In the Owls’ comeback win against PSU, after entering when down 2-0, she played the remaining 43 minutes in net and did not allow a goal by making nine saves in the victory.
Seabury, Nicotera, and the Owls (12-2) will be back at home for their next matchup, as they will host Western New England University (7-6) on Wednesday, October 16, at 6:30 PM.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Sophomore diver Megan Strzegowski (Westford, Mass.) was named the LEC Diver of the Week from the Owls’ Sprint Pentathlon on Saturday afternoon. Strzegowski won the women’s one-meter diving with a score of 226.80, scoring better than Norwich’s Reilly Laitala (218.25).
Freshman diver Madelynn Keyes (Sandwich, Mass.) was named the LEC Rookie Diver of the Week from her first meet of her career for the Owls. Keyes placed third at the Owls’ Sprint Pentathlon, with a score of 209.2 in her first-ever collegiate dive.
Strzegowski, Keyes, and the KSC Swimming and Diving team will be in action at home again this upcoming Saturday, October 19, against St. Michael’s at 1:00 PM.
