KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The Greater Monadnock Collaborative (GMC) has announced the promotion of Julie Schoelzel to president and CEO, effective immediately.

Schoelzel, who previously served as the organization’s director of regional marketing, played a key role in launching the award-winning Magnify Monadnock regional promotion initiative and developing the region’s online presence through MonadnockNH.com.

“Julie has helped transform the Greater Monadnock Collaborative from a chamber of commerce that serves its members to an organization that serves every resident and employer in the Monadnock Region,” said Board Chair Chris Coates in a news release. “I’m delighted with her promotion to CEO, and I am confident she will lead the GMC to the next level.”

Schoelzel brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, strategic partnerships, and customer service, including leadership roles at the travel startup Tablet Hotels. At the Greater Monadnock Collaborative, she secured over $700,000 in grant funding and developed outreach strategies to attract visitors, retain talent, and support regional employers.

Schoelzel and her family moved to the Monadnock Region in 2017, drawn by its quality of life and tight-knit community, the release said. As CEO, she will lead the Collaborative’s continued efforts to support businesses, promote the region, and strengthen the regional economy.

Schoelzel succeeds former president Luca Paris, who left the organization in early 2025 after nearly four years at the helm. A familiar figure in the Monadnock Region, Paris was previously a Keene restaurateur and continues as the host of What’s Cookin’ with Luca Paris on WKBK Radio. He joined the Collaborative in 2021 and played a key role in transforming the organization from a traditional chamber of commerce into a regional force for economic and community development.
