MONADNOCK REGION, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Power outages are cropping up around the region as strong winds blow through the area.

Portions of central, northern, and southern New Hampshire, including Cheshire County and the Monadnock Region, are under a Wind Advisory until 6:00 Friday evening. The National Weather Service says west winds of 15-25 miles per hour are expected to be accompanied by gusts up to 45 miles per hour.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and could bring some tree limbs down, which could also bring power lines down with them.

According to the Eversource outage map at about 1:45 Friday afternoon thousands of power outages have been reported across the southern portion of the state, including multiple across the Monadnock Region.

If you come across any downed power lines do not go near them and report them to police. Some downed trees or power lines may result in some road closures, so drivers are urged to use caution and obey traffic control personnel.
