HINSDALE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Students at Hinsdale Elementary School will return to the classroom Wednesday after staff illness forced it to close on Tuesday.
Families were notified of the closure in an email around 6:15 Monday evening.
“Due to the significant rise in classroom teacher, supporting staff member, and student illnesses, we will be unable to safely open and operate the elementary school,” the Hinsdale School District said in the notification.
With that, class was cancelled Tuesday along with the after school program.
About one-third of the school’s staff had called out sick Monday afternoon for the next day. Dozens of students had been absent as well.
Several staff members at the middle/high school were also out sick, but it did have enough staff to move forward with a regular school day.
School officials have confirmed that enough staff members are returning to work Wednesday that the school can reopen.
