KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) With just weeks to go before the downtown celebration of the Jumanji movie’s 30th anniversary, the Keene City Council has officially reissued the event license, recognizing a new lead sponsor with full support.
The council voted unanimously to approve BW Enterprises, LLC—owned by Brandie Wells—as the new event producer following the withdrawal of the Greater Monadnock Collaborative, which had originally taken on the sponsorship role. The decision was made during a recent City Council meeting, where councilors praised the transition and the volunteers who have helped move the project forward.
“I’d just like to thank Brandie Wells and her team for stepping in,” said Councilor Ed Haas.
According to city records, Wells’ company will now handle all fiscal responsibilities, event insurance, and the city’s licensing agreement, as well as coordination of any needed municipal services. The original event committee, which had already been meeting with city staff through the protocol process, will continue to support the effort. Councilors also acknowledged Cathy Bergstrom as a key figure in the planning process, crediting her as one of the “prime movers” of the celebration’s original vision.
Wells, in a statement, confirmed that a formal contract is in place with Sony Pictures for the celebration and noted that use of Jumanji trademarks will be restricted to official organizers.
“We took the proper steps to gain approval from Sony. This contract is public record with the City of Keene,” she stated. “We are excited to host this event for the citizens of Keene and all who gather to roll the dice.”
The festival runs from June 20–22 and includes a large community parade, vendors, live entertainment, and a special meet-and-greet on Sunday, June 22, with guests Dow Griffith, Bradley Pierce, and Dan Sissons. More information and registration forms are available at www.jumanji30thanniversary.com.
