CHESTERFIELD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Keene man was seriously injured Sunday evening after his SUV left the road and overturned down an embankment along Route 9 near Friedsam Memorial Park, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Authorities say 47-year-old Jirad Kinney was behind the wheel of a 2024 Ford Bronco when the vehicle struck a guardrail and rolled. Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 5:40 p.m., and Kinney was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment. Officials did not release details about the nature of his injuries or whether any passengers were involved.

State police confirmed Tuesday that Kinney has been charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The investigation remains active, and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Trooper Jonathan DeLisle at 358-3333.
